In the spring of 2007, Health Care Investment Visions partnered with industry veterans to identify health care markets where technology could accelerate positive change and disrupt or replace existing service models. One market that came to the forefront of our analysis involved the accreditation requirements in effect, with others requirements emerging, for the home medical and durable equipment market. With an estimated 18,000 (of 25,000) national HME/DME companies not accredited, and CMS implementing this requirement as a condition for reimbursement, the opportunity to establish a first to market solution became apparent.

Accreditation Helper LLC was formed, and nine months later an initial 50 customers are using the secure, scalable Web based knowledge solution to attain accreditation status. Context determined risk has been assessed and managed along the way in building this company, and the capital structure employed has proven to be highly efficient and effective.
